Middlegate Europe is a modern, dynamic logistics company, with impressive eco – credentials, offering our clients a wide range of services with a personal touch. We specialise in goods transporting services, whilst offering a wide range of transporting options such as our double deck trailers.

We are a family run business established in 1989, now a European market leader in transport and logistics. With offices in Zeebrugge, Kingston upon Hull and Liège offering extensive warehousing and distribution facilities, serving all European destinations with daily short sea connections along with a number of deep-sea services.

The Middlegate team work continuously at engaging with our customers to continually improve our service offering. We firmly believe that providing a high quality and reliable service to all customers is fundamental to the Middlegate ethos, whilst at the same time adding value by helping to streamline and improve the movement, storage and handling of goods.

Our First Steps

After working together at MAT Transport in Zeebrugge, Charlie and Rosa Notman knew that they could provide a better service. So, on the 16th March, 1989, Middlegate Europe was born. With just two desks and a telex machine, little did they know how successful they would become. From their small rented office at the port of Zeebrugge, Charlie and Rosa focussed on the Great British market, and it wasn’t long before both full truck loads and part loads were being booked between Belgium and the UK. New Flagship Facility In Kingston Upon Hull

Middlegate Europe and Perpetum Sun, both part of the Middlegate Group and owned by CEO Kim Notman, wanted to officially open the new buildings with the necessary grandeur. With over 3.000.000 pounds of investments in the Hull region in 2012, both companies wanted to emphasize the positive news of job creation and further growth during these hard economic times. With customer service being a critical success factor of the Middlegate Group, the strategic approach has proven to deliver the necessary results. New Luxembourg Office Opened

Organic growth of the business continues, with an increasing number of clients in the southern part of our core business area. Wishing to untap the potential in this heavily industrialised area, the decision was made to establish a presence in Luxembourg. Arnaud Baillieux was appointed as Chief Commercial Officer in order to use his experience in this area.

Sad Times

March 2014 was a dark time for the company, as one of the companies original founders Charlie Notman passed away following a short illness. This much-loved and well-respected Scotsman was the heart and the soul of the company for many years. He will be sadly missed.
